TOUR DETAILS

Day 1 - .... LA PAZ

Upon arrival in La Paz, you will be transported to your hotel. The rest of the day at leisure. Night in La Paz.

Please keep in mind that La Paz  is located at 11850 ft. (3600 mts) so take your time to acclimatize and rest as much as your body needs it.

Day 2 - LA PAZ - CITY TOUR / MOON VALLEY

Breakfast at the hotel. Time at leisure.

PM: Pick up from the hotel to begin the excursion to the Traditional Markets of our City, visit the famous Prison of San Pedro, famous by its infrastructure and difference that other jails in the World. Ride using the largest Cableway System of the World from where we can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of La Paz. Visit of Moon Valley, located 10 km. from downtown of La Paz´s city, impressive formations, composed mainly of clay and were created by the persistent erosion of mountains by the area’s strong winds and rains. Then, we will visit the Killi Killi Viewpoint (from where we will have a panoramic view of 360° of the city) then the Historic Center of La Paz where we will visit Murillo Square, Executive Palace, Legislative Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral and Witches´ Market (here, we will understand the Andean way of thinking and their mystery), we will return to the hotel.

Day 3 - LA PAZ – TIAHUANACO PUNO

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to Tiawanaku. This circuit began with the gathering of the tourists at its hotels in the city of La Paz, to go through a paved road to Tiwanaku, located 72 km from the city of La Paz.

Upon arrival, we will visit the “Lithic and Ceramic” museum and then we will visit the archaeological site of Tiwanaku and its major ceremonial centers such as The Pyramid of Akapana, Semi-Underground Temple, Temple of Kalasasaya, the Sun Gate, etc.

The guided tour lasts about two hours and at the end of our visit we will taste a lunch and travel to Puno. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 4 - PUNO - UROS REED FLOATING ISLANDS & THE TAQUILE ISLAND

The tour begins with the transfer to the Titicaca Lake pier to board a boat in which we will sail to the island of Taquile, located on Lake TITICACA, the highest navigable lake in the world.

This journey by the lake lasts approximately 02.30 hrs. The Titicaca is known by the Andean people as the MAMACOCHA (Mother Lake). Arriving in Taquile, a place of spectacular beauty, we will find highland descendants who maintain ancestral customs, and where we can share some experiences with, while we travelling through part of their territory. We will make direct contact with them to appreciate their customs, observe and optionally buy their handmade products. It should be noted that Taquile was declared as “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO in 2005. We will have time to enjoy the landscape.

After lunch we will start the return to the city of Puno, on the way we will visit the Floating Islands of the Uros. The Islands are manufactured by its inhabitants who weave artificial floors with the totora (Reeds that grow in place) place them superimposed and skillfully interweave them to float on Lake Titicaca. The islands are of various sizes, with small and / or numerous families living in them. These families live from fishing, gathering and selling handicrafts to visitors. During this tour you will see and listen about the legends of the Uros, their uses, customs, and folklore. We will enjoy this full day tour sailing up Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world

Day 5 - PUNO / CUSCO (Touristic bus)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus station to take a bus with destination to the city of Cusco. On the way we will visit the Pucará site museum, we will then do a brief stop in “La Raya”, the highest point in the route (4335 m.a.s.l)., visiting the archeological center of Raqchi (one of the main temples of the god Wiracocha), another stop in Sicuani to enjoy a nice buffet lunch. Finally, upon arrival to Cusco we will visit Andayhuayllas, known as the Sistine Chapel of South America. Arriving in the city of Cusco, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to the hotel.

Day 6 - CUSCO - CITY TOUR + NEARBY RUINS

Breakfast at the hotel. Free morning. City tour of the imperial city where we will visit the Cathedral and Santo Domingo, known as Q’oricancha or Temple of the Sun, Sacsayhuaman, Q’enco, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Temples of the four natural elements, earth, fire, air and water respectively. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 7 - SACRED VALLEY TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will take a tour to visit the beautiful town of Pisac, its traditional market, the popular show and its narrow streets. (Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday). You will continue the tour through the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, where you can enjoy a nice buffet lunch. Then you will visit Ollantaytambo, a still inhabited Inca City where a complex system of irrigation channels and foundations still remain from the Inca civilization and where much of the town was built. The archeological site of Ollantaytambo has large groups of terraces, fortresses, squares, channels and the Real Casa del Sol, a megalithic temple of great mysticism.

Night in Cusco or Sacred Valley.

Day 8 - MACHU PICCHU GUIDED TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel. You will be transported to the train station to board the train that will begin our tour to the Sacred City of Machu Picchu, declared by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage for Humanity and chosen as one of the modern Seven Wonders. The train will take you to Aguas Calientes, where you will ascend to the sacred City of the Incas, “Machu Picchu”, located 112 km/69m away from the city of Cusco and 2,360 miles above sea level. Once there, you will have a guided tour where you will see palaces, temples, houses, stores, and buildings. Enjoy a great lunch at the unique Sanctuary Lodge. After the visit, you will descend to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo where you will have lunch.  At the appropriate time, we take the train back to Cusco, and are you will be taken to your hotel. Night in Cusco.

Day 9 - MACHU PICCHU / AT LEISURE

Breakfast at your hotel. Day at leisure to enjoy this amazing city at your own pace.

Overnight in Cusco.

Day 10 - CUSCO

Breakfast at the hotel. At the appropriate time you will be transported to the airport for your flight to  home – Lima.

Passengers are responsible for having a valid passport (valid at least 6months before travel) and any visas required.

Peru may require visa for some nationalities. Please note that some countries require a reciprocity entrance fee.

The CHD rate applies for children from 2 to 10 years traveling accompanied by two adults and sharing a bed with them. Maximum 1 child is allowed with CHD rate per room. If you require additional bed you must pay an extra cost.
