The Chachapoyas, known as the men who live among the clouds, were a culture that developed between 800 AD. and 1570 AD on the north-eastern slope of the Andes mountain range of Peru, between 2000 and 3000 thousand meters above sea level. Impressive waterfalls like Gocta slide down its endless cliffs and we find places like the Revash mausoleums, or the Karajía sarcophagi, unique in the entire continent.
The constructions that you will see are circular and made of stone, their walls have decorated reliefs, they have sloping ramps or stairs leading to the entrance, rising on platforms located on slopes. The most outstanding architectural complexes are Kuélap el Gran Vilaya, and Gran Pajatén, all of them lost in time.
In this place we are always accompanied by the feeling of traveling through a region where we are pioneers in the style of Indiana Jones, because tourism has not yet arrived en masse and is waiting to be discovered by the world of adventurers.
