Day 3: LIMA / ICA – VISIT AND TASTING AT A PISCO PRODUCING HACIENDA + LUNCH WITH EXHIBITION OF PASO HORSES + VISIT TO THE HUACACHINA OASIS + BUGGIE RIDE

Breakfast at the hotel.  At 06:15 a.m. we will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you to the station where you will board the bus bound for the city of Ica. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to the Pisco la Caravedo production farm, one of the most emblematic in Peru, and where we will receive you with a refreshing Chilcano de Pisco, in order to start the tour of the oldest operating distillery in America. After tasting 336 years of tradition, we will move on to the current production plant, which is considered the most modern in Peru. Then we will have an exclusive tasting with 5 of the winery’s most awarded Piscos and we will finish the experience savoring a typical local 3-course lunch.

Next, we will transfer you to the Huacachina lagoon, famous for being one of the few natural oases in Latin America. To continue, we will go to the boarding point of the tubular vehicles (buggies) that will take us on an adrenaline ride through the sands of the Ica desert. During the ride we will have the opportunity to practice sandboarding for a few minutes. Transfer to your hotel.     (B. L.)

Day 4: ICA / PARACAS – BALLESTAS ISLAND / LIMA

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, we will transfer to the Paracas pier to board the boat in which we will start the excursion out to sea towards the Ballestas Islands. During the ride we will be able to appreciate the gigantic Candelabra outlined on the side of a hill facing the sea, and our local guide will tell you the various theories that have been woven around this enigmatic design. When you arrive at the Ballestas Islands, you will be able to observe different species that make up part of the local marine fauna, including Humboldt penguins, sea lions, seagulls, boobies, Zarcilillos, pelicans, etc. (some of them are almost extinct).

NOTE: (The exact time of departure to the Ballestas Islands is subject to the weather, and it is necessary for the port captaincy to give the go-ahead for navigation).

Optionally and with an additional payment, you can request an overflight to the Nasca lines from the Pisco aerodrome or a visit to the Paracas National Reserve.

After the tour of the islands we will return to the mainland and, after some free time, you can continue with one of the optional excursions, or we will transfer you to the bus station to return to the city of Lima. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you at the station to transfer you to your hotel.  For this day, we have planned that if you take an optional excursion in Pisco (Paracas) and arrive at the end of the day in Lima, we will transfer you directly to the Holiday Inn airport hotel. However, if you prefer to return to Lima early, we will take you to the hotel where you were staying at the beginning of the itinerary in Miraflores. You choose which of the two options you prefer at no additional cost.     (B.)

Day 5: LIMA / CUSCO

Breakfast at the hotel. If you chose to spend the night in Miraflores, the transfer to the airport will be included. If you spent the night at the airport hotel, you will be able to rest until check-out time or until the time you must show up at the counter to board your flight to the city of Cusco. Upon arrival in the city of Cusco, our staff will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to the selected hotel.   (B.)

Day 6: FULL DAY / SACRED INCA VALLEY

Breakfast at the hotel. Between 07:20 and 07:40 hrs., we will start our tour visiting the beautiful town of Pisac, its handicraft market and its narrow streets. Continuing the tour through the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, where you can enjoy a nice lunch.

Next, we will visit Ollantaytambo, an Inca city still inhabited that conserves a complex system of irrigation canals and foundations of that time, on which a large part of the town was built. The archaeological center of Ollantaytambo has large groups of platforms, forts, plazas, canals and the Real Casa del Sol, a megalithic temple of great mystical value. Overnight in the Sacred Valley.     (B. L.)

Day 7: VISIT TO THE SACRED INCA CITADEL OF MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

Breakfast at the hotel.  At the agreed time transfer to the train station to begin the excursion to the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu, recognized as one of the wonders of the world and declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The train takes us to the town of Aguas Calientes and then upon arrival we will take the bus to go up to the Archaeological Center and then begin the guided tour that lasts approximately 2 hours. During the visit you can appreciate temples, squares, terraces, houses, barns, as well as the great biodiversity that exists in the surroundings. It is worth mentioning that because of where Machu Pichu is located its beauty is exalted. A National Reserve has been formed around the citadel that has an area of 32,500 hectares, and which includes a constellation of archaeological monuments, which, in our opinion, were built as part of the Machu Picchu complex and not in isolation. After our visit in the Archaeological Center, we will take the bus to go down and back to the town where you will enjoy a delicious meal. Finally, you will board the train back to the city of Cusco. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel.      (B. L.)

Day 8: CUSCO

Breakfast at the hotel. Day off to wander around the beautiful city of Cusco on your own or request an optional excursion with an additional payment.      (B.)

Day 9: CUSCO

Breakfast at the hotel. At the arranged time we will transfer you to the airport to continue with your itinerary.    (B.)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW ENTRANCE REGULATIONS FOR MACHU PICCHU

Current restrictions on visits to Machu Picchu establish that, during the first entrance to the archaeological centre, the passenger must be accompanied by a guide and must follow one of the established circuits within the citadel. Guided tours last approximately 2 hours and the circuit is chosen according to the space’s availability at the moment of formally requesting the reservation.

If the passenger wishes to enter again in the afternoon shift or the next day to make a new visit, or if the passenger wants to make a visit to Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, it must previously request an additional entrance ticket. There is no sale of tickets at the archaeological site.

It is not possible to reserve entrance tickets. The only way to guarantee a place to visit Machu Picchu is buying the entrance ticket, and to do so, it is mandatory to provide updated personal information of each passenger coming to Peru (full name, date of birth, nationality, and passport or identity card number), which must match the identity document that passengers carry during the trip. This information is especially important for visits to places such as the Inca Trail or the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu (including Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain), where local authorities require the presentation of updated and original documentation at the entrance control.

Once the entrance ticket to Machu Picchu has been purchased, it is NON-refundable, NON-transferable and NON-modifiable due to the policies imposed by the authority that regulates the entrance to the archaeological centre.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LUGGAGE TRANSFER
