TOUR DETAILS:

Day 01 : LIMA

Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting at the airport, ready to transfer you to the selected hotel. Free day to rest or realize an excursión (by request) if time allows it.

Overnight in Lima

Day 02: LIMA – CITY TOUR / PARACAS

Breakfast at the hotel. At the coordinated time, we will transfer you to Lima’s Historic Downtown in a private guided tour to the most important sites of Lima. We visit the Monumental Center, well known for its colonial architecture, traditional balconies and colonial mansions. The Mayor Plaza is located there and it is surrounded by the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace and Municipality of Lima. Then, we will visit the Convent of San Francisco, where you can see cloisters and catacombs from the Colonial era. The tour continues through the traditional, residential and commercial areas of Lima and it ends with a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the beaches of Miraflores.

Transfer to the bus station to travel to Paracas.

Overnight in Pisco (Paracas).

Day 3: PARACAS - BALLESTAS ISLANDS / NASCA

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we will transfer you to the Paracas port to board a boat in which we will initiate our deep sea journey at the coordinated time, headed to the Ballestas Islands. In said journey, we will be able to appreciate the gigantic Chandelier drawn of a hillside facing the sea, while our guide tells stories about the different theories about its enigmatic design. Upon arriving we will observe the local marine fauna in their natural habitat, among them, the Humbolt penguins, sea wolves, seagulls, piqueros, zarcillos, pelicans, etc (some of them are rare, endangered species).

Transfer to the bus station to board the bus to Nasca. Reception and transfer to the hotel.

Day 4: NASCA – OVERFLYGHT / AREQUIPA

Breakfast at the hotel- At the accorded time, we will transfer you to the bus station. Departure to Ica. Upon arrival, our personnel will be waiting for you to transfer to the airfield. We will wait our turn for the aircraft, then initiate a magnificent overflight to the Nasca Lines during approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, time in which we will observe the gigantic zoomorphic and geometrical figures, created over the desert sands, in the plains of San Jose of Nasca. It is believed that these lines represented a massive astronomical calendar, related to agriculture, or served as a map for navigation, maybe even an alien starport. After the overflight, you can create your own conclusions

Trip to Arequipa by bus. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel.

Day 5: AREQUIPA - CITY TOUR - SANTA CATALINA

Breakfast at the hotel – Free morning.

The White City opens up its doors in a tour to the Monastery of Santa Catalina an impressive religious monument that had been closed to the public for nearly 400 years; its narrow streets, plazas and gardens reminds us of the ancient districts of Seville or Granada, located in Spain. After that, we will head for the Main Square, where we will be able to see the Cathedral and the arches that surround the plaza, and then visit the Church of the Company of Jesus founded in the 17th century by the Jesuits, and which stands out for its cloisters and the famous Saint Ignacio Dome.

Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 06: AREQUIPA / PUNO

Breakfast at the hotel, at the coordinated time, transfer to the bus station in Arequipa to board a bus to the city of Juliaca. Upon arrival, reception at the station, and initiate transfer to the city Puno. On the way to Puno, we realize our first stop Cañahuasi Pampas, located in the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca, located at the back of Chachani volcano, from here we can observe vicuñas, llamas, and luckily, foxes, guanacos or cougars.

Our next stop in the restaurant “El Chino” located in “Patawasi” (Pampa Cañahuasi), place where we offer the passengers a snack and a coca tea, here you can also make use of the restrooms, if you wish, aside from buying souvenirs and handicrafts. Continuing our journey if the weather allows it, we can realize an additional stop in “El Mirador de Carlitos”, place in which tourists can enjoy a panoramic view of the Andean plateau.

Finally, at the last stop in Lagunillas, the viewpoint from which you can observe a group of small lakes, Andean flamencos and other birds that inhabit this place. The bus arrives to the bus station in Puno, between 19:15 hrs – 19:45 hrs approximately.  Transfer to the hotel.

Day 07: EXCURSION TAQUILE ISLAND / FLOATING UROS ISLANDS

Breakfast at the hotel. At the arranged time, we will transfer you to Titicaca Lake pier to take a motor boat toward Taquile Island. On the way, we will visit the Uros, where the friendly locals will welcome us on their handmade floating islands built with totora reed, a plant which it grows in the same lake. Later on, we will continue our trip towards Taquile, a natural island that offers wonderful lake scenery, eye-catching handicrafts and colourful ancient folk traditions that its inhabitants have preserved and that we will be able to share with them. Following we will have a traditional lunch prepared with products typical of the area.

We will enjoy this full day tour sailing up Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world.

Day 08: PUNO / CUSCO (touristic bus)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus station to take a bus with destination to the city of Cusco. On the way we will visit the Pucará site museum, we will then do a brief stop in “La Raya”, the highest point in the route (4335 m.a.s.l)., visiting the archeological center of Raqchi (one of the main temples of the god Wiracocha), another stop in Sicuani to enjoy a nice buffet lunch. Finally, upon arrival to Cusco we will visit Andayhuayllas, known as the Sistine Chapel of South America. Arriving in the city of Cusco, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco

Day 09: CUSCO / CITY TOUR + NEARBY ARCHAEOLOGICAL CENTER

Breakfast at the hotel. At 13.30 hrs. we will begin our city tour visiting the Plaza de Armas, Temple of Sun, known as Q’oricancha and the Cathedral of Cusco, where we can observe beautiful paintings and sculptures. Likewise we will visit the surrounding archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, a multipurpose place where people used to worship the Sun, Moon and Earth. Q’enco, a cult center related to the fire element. Puca Pucara, which was used as a storage facility and control post, in which natives celebrated ceremonies to the wind and Tambomachay, cult center related to the element of water and fertility. Return to your hotel.

Day 10: SACRED VALLEY TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will visit the beautiful village of Pisac, its traditional market, the popular trade fair and its narrow streets). We will continue the tour through the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, where you can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Then we will visit Ollantaytambo, a still inhabited Inca City that preserves a complex system of irrigation Canals and foundations of the time when much of the village was built. The archaeological site of Ollantaytambo has large groups of terraces, fortresses, squares, canals and the Sun Royal House, a megalithic temple of great mystical value. Transfer to the hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Day 11: SACRED VALLEY / MACCHU PICCHU TOUR / CUSCO

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station to begin the excursion to the Sacred City of Machu Picchu declared by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage for Humanity and chosen as one of the new seven wonders of the world.

Once we reach the archaeological site we will begin a guided tour around the citadel that will last about 2 hours. During the tour you will find temples, palaces, squares and streets of military and agricultural areas. The beauty of Machu Picchu is exalted by the extraordinary scenery where it is located. Around the citadel, the National Reserve covers an area of 32.500 hectares and includes a constellation of archaeological monuments which we believe that were built as part of the complex of Machu Picchu and not in an isolation way.

Free time to enjoy the archaeological site. At the arranged time with the guide, we will descend to Aguas Calientes town, where we will have included the lunch. Return to Cusco. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 12: CUSCO / PUERTO MALDONADO ( JUNGLE LODGE)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to the airport to board the flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport by your naturalist guide and transferred to a dugout canoe for the trip up the lodge. On the journey the vegetation changes from colonized deforested areas to virgin rainforest. On arrival you’ll have a welcome drink and meet the rest of the staff. In the late afternoon you set off for an introductory walk into the “terra firma” forest behind the lodge Frequently seen mammals on this trail are Saddle-back, Brown Capuchins, Agoutis, Pacas, Blue-Morpho butterflies, Trogons, Toucans and many other species of birds. After dinner a night walk to find nocturnal animals or insects by their eye-shine, a specialization for increasing light and seeing better. About 50% of the animals are nocturnal in the rainforest.

Day 13: ECONATURIST WALK

After an early breakfast you and your nature guide will board the motorized canoe once again for the short journey to the trail head to begin a morning’s exploration by foot and paddle canoe of the lake in the jungle, rich in bird and aquatic life. A family of giant otters lives in the vicinity of the lake and are often observed. Birds abound especially Rufescent Tiger-herons, Great Egrets, Wattled Jacanas, Hoatzin, the noisy and many others. Remember to bring your hat and sun cream for there is no shade out on the water. You will return to the lodge in time for lunch.

The afternoon is for exploring the forest close to the lodge (with or without your guide. After dark you will go searching for caiman (alligators) and other nocturnal animals by motorized canoe along the Tambopata River.

Day 14: LODGE - PUERTO MALADONADO / LIMA

Breakfast at the lodge. Transfer to Puerto Maldonado by boat in the morning. Transfer to the airport upon arrival to Puerto Maldonado to board the flight to Lima.

Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free.

Overnight in Lima.

Day 15: LIMA / HUARAZ

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus station to board the bus to Huaraz. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Free afternoon.

Overnight in Huaraz.

Day 16: EXCURSION TO CHAVIN

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will visit the archaeological site of Chavin de Huantar. On the way we will visit the Querococha Lagoon and pass through the Cahuish tunnel located 4.178 m.a.s.l. It crosses the white Cordillera and joins the Huaylas alley with Conchucos. Lunch and return to Huaraz.

Overnight in Huaraz

Day 17: HUARAZ / TRUJILLO

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. In the evening, transfer to the bus station to board the bus to Trujillo. Reception and transfer to the hotel.

Overnight in Trujillo

Day 18: TRUJILLO – CHAN CHAN – HUACAS OF THE SUN AND THE MOON

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to Chan Chan, the largest mud city in the world. Visit to the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon in the afternoon.

Overnight in Trujillo.

Day 19: TRUJILLO – EL BRUJO / CHICLAYO – HUACA RAJADA (LORD OF SIPAN)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer and visit to the Huaca Cao Viejo at El Brujo archaeological complex. After, we will tour the archaeological complex of Huaca Rajada. Transfer to the hotel at Chiclayo.

Overnight in Chiclayo

Day 20: CHICLAYO – TOUR TO THE MUSEUM OF SIPAN ROYAL TOMBS / PIURA - BEACHES

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Lambayeque to visit the Museum of the Lord of Sipan Royal Tombs. After the visit, overland trip to Piura’s beaches. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel at the chosen beach.

Overnight in  the beach hotel

Day 21: PIURA / BEACHES

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the paradisiacal beaches. During your stay you can perform various activities such as surfing, windsurfing, water skiing, horseback riding, rowing, fishing, diving, etc. Some activities have an additional cost.

Overnight in  the beach hotel

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 22: PIURA / BEACHES

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy beaches.

Optional with an additional payment:

– Boat ride and fishing

– Tour to Cerro de Amotape National Park

– Catacaos visit: Here you can admire the fine weaving of straw, cotton and filigree work in gold and silver.

Overnight in  the beach hotel

Day 23: PIURA / LIMA

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Lima. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free.

Overnight in Lima

Day 24: LIMA

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport at the indicated time to continue your itinerary.

Peru may require visa for some nationalities. Please note that some countries require a reciprocity entrance fee.
