TOUR DETAILS:

Day 01 : LIMA

Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting at the airport, ready to transfer you to the selected hotel. Free day to rest or realize an excursión (by request) if time allows it.

Overnight in Lima

Day 02 : LIMA – CITY TOUR + GOLD MUSEUM

Breakfast at the hotel. At the coordinated time, we will transfer you to Lima’s Historic Downtown tour to the most important sites of Lima. We visit the Monumental Center, well known for its colonial architecture, traditional balconies and colonial mansions. The Mayor Plaza is located there and it is surrounded by the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace and Municipality of Lima. Then, we will visit the Convent of San Francisco, where you can see cloisters and catacombs from the Colonial era. The tour continues through the traditional, residential and commercial areas of Lima and it ends with a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the beaches of Miraflores.

Guided tour of the Gold Museum, which exhibits a private collection of gold pieces such as necklaces, funerary masks, ceremonial cups, scepters, Tumis, nose rings, idols, etc. These pieces are an example of the advances that were achieved in gold in ancient Peru. Also, this museum has a large collection of ancient weapons from around the world.

Day 03 : LIMA / ICA / NASCA – OVERFLIGHT NASCA

Breakfast at the hotel- At the accorded time, we will transfer you to the bus station. Departure to Ica. Upon arrival, our personnel will be waiting for you to transfer to the airfield. We will wait our turn for the aircraft, then initiate a magnificent overflight to the Nasca Lines during approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, time in which we will observe the gigantic zoomorphic and geometrical figures, created over the desert sands, in the plains of San Jose of Nasca. It is believed that these lines represented a massive astronomical calendar, related to agriculture, or served as a map for navigation, maybe even an alien starport.

After the overflight, you can create your own conclusions.

Overnight in Paracas.

Day 04 : BALLESTAS ISLANDS / LIMA

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we will transfer you to the Paracas port to board a boat in which we will initiate our deep sea journey at the coordinated time, headed to the Ballestas Islands. In said journey, we will be able to appreciate the gigantic Chandelier drawn of a hillside facing the sea, while our guide tells stories about the different theories about its enigmatic design. Upon arriving we will observe the local marine fauna in their natural habitat, among them, the Humbolt penguins, sea wolves, seagulls, piqueros, zarcillos, pelicans, etc (some of them are rare, endangered species). Return to Lima.

Day 05 : LIMA / AREQUIPA – CITY TOUR / SANTA CATALINA

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board a flight to the “white city” of Arequipa, built in “sillar” rock. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

The White City opens up its doors in a tour to the Monastery of Santa Catalina an impressive religious monument that had been closed to the public for nearly 400 years; its narrow streets, plazas and gardens reminds us of the ancient districts of Seville or Granada, located in Spain. After that, we will head for the Main Square, where we will be able to see the Cathedral and the arches that surround the plaza, and then visit the Church of the Company of Jesus founded in the 17th century by the Jesuits, and which stands out for its cloisters and the famous Saint Ignacio Dome.

Day 06 : AREQUIPA / PUNO

Breakfast at the hotel, at the coordinated time, transfer to the bus station in Arequipa to board a bus to the city of Juliaca. Upon arrival, reception at the station, and initiate transfer to the city Puno. On the way to Puno, we realize our first stop Cañahuasi Pampas, located in the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca, located at the back of Chachani volcano, from here we can observe vicuñas, llamas, and luckily, foxes, guanacos or cougars.

Our next stop in the restaurant “El Chino” located in “Patawasi” (Pampa Cañahuasi), place where we offer the passengers a snack and a coca tea, here you can also make use of the restrooms, if you wish, aside from buying souvenirs and handicrafts. Continuing our journey if the weather allows it, we can realize an additional stop in “El Mirador de Carlitos”, place in which tourists can enjoy a panoramic view of the Andean plateau.

Finally, at the last stop in Lagunillas, the viewpoint from which you can observe a group of small lakes, Andean flamencos and other birds that inhabit this place. The bus arrives to the bus station in Puno, door #2 between 19:15 hrs – 19:45 hrs approximately.  Transfer to the hotel.

Day 07 : EXCURSION TAQUILE ISLAND / FLOATING UROS ISLANDS

Breakfast at the hotel. At the arranged time, we will transfer you to Titicaca Lake pier to take a motor boat toward Taquile Island. On the way, we will visit the Uros, where the friendly locals will welcome us on their handmade floating islands built with totora reed, a plant which it grows in the same lake. Later on, we will continue our trip towards Taquile, a natural island that offers wonderful lake scenery, eye-catching handicrafts and colourful ancient folk traditions that its inhabitants have preserved and that we will be able to share with them. Following we will have a traditional lunch prepared with products typical of the area.

We will enjoy this full day tour sailing up Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world.

Overnight in Puno.

Day 08 : PUNO / CUSCO (touristic bus)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus station to take a bus with destination to the city of Cusco. On the way we will visit the Pucará site museum, we will then do a brief stop in “La Raya”, the highest point in the route (4335 m.a.s.l)., visiting the archeological center of Raqchi (one of the main temples of the god Wiracocha), another stop in Sicuani to enjoy a nice buffet lunch. Finally, upon arrival to Cusco we will visit Andayhuayllas, known as the Sistine Chapel of South America. Arriving in the city of Cusco, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco

Day 09 : CUSCO / CITY TOUR + NEARBY ARCHAEOLOGICAL CENTER

Breakfast at the hotel. At 13.30 hrs. we will begin our city tour visiting the Plaza de Armas, Temple of Sun, known as Q’oricancha and the Cathedral of Cusco, where we can observe beautiful paintings and sculptures. Likewise we will visit the surrounding archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, a multipurpose place where people used to worship the Sun, Moon and Earth. Q’enco, a cult center related to the fire element. Puca Pucara, which was used as a storage facility and control post, in which natives celebrated ceremonies to the wind and Tambomachay, cult center related to the element of water and fertility. Return to your hotel.

Day 10 : SACRED VALLEY TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will visit the beautiful village of Pisac, its traditional market, the popular trade fair and its narrow streets). We will continue the tour through the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, where you can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Then we will visit Ollantaytambo, a still inhabited Inca City that preserves a complex system of irrigation Canals and foundations of the time when much of the village was built. The archaeological site of Ollantaytambo has large groups of terraces, fortresses, squares, canals and the Sun Royal House, a megalithic temple of great mystical value. Transfer to the hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Day 11 : MACCHU PICCHU TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station to begin the excursion to the Sacred City of Machu Picchu declared by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage for Humanity and chosen as one of the new seven wonders of the world.

Once we reach the archaeological site we will begin a guided tour around the citadel that will last about 2 hours. During the tour you will find temples, palaces, squares and streets of military and agricultural areas. The beauty of Machu Picchu is exalted by the extraordinary scenery where it is located. Around the citadel, the National Reserve covers an area of 32.500 hectares and includes a constellation of archaeological monuments which we believe that were built as part of the complex of Machu Picchu and not in an isolation way.

Free time to enjoy the archaeological site. At the arranged time with the guide, we will descend to Aguas Calientes town, where we will have included the lunch. Return to Cusco. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 12 : CUSCO / LIMA / IQUITOS

Breakfast at the hotel. At the coordinated time, we will transfer you to the airport to board a flight with destination to the city of Lima, then a connection flight to Iquitos. Upon arrival, our personnel will be waiting to transfer you to the hotel. On the way ,you will receive a brief explanation about the main touristic attractives of the city. Accomodation in the hotel and the rest of the day free to enjoy exploring the city by your own or resting.

Day 13 : IQUITOS / LODGE

Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick up from there at around 9:00 to 9:30 hrs, to transfer you to the beautiful, selected amazon lodge in a guided journey through the jungle. At 10:00am, we will board a boat in Nanay port.  Navigating though the Amazon River, we will visit on the way the Florida neighborhood, observing a Paiche

hatchery, wild Victoria Regia flowers and we wil contact an indigenous tribe called the “Bora”. Finally, upon arrival to the lodge,the staff will receive us with a welcome drink, made with fruits from the region such as cocona, camu-camu, copoazu, etc., while we receive a brief explanation about the rules governing the sustainability of the hostel and the natural environment, which will make your stay and participation in eco-tourism activities more rewarding. Then we will prepare to enjoy the local cuisine, expressed in a lunch at “The Hungry Monkey” where we can try several fresh and natural delicacies, obtained from the river and the jungle forest. After lunch we will proceed to visit the Gen Gen farmhouses and Centro Fuerte, Chullachaki botanical garden and Alamas indigenous tribe. Dinner at “The Hungry Monkey”. At night, optionally, you can take a breathtaking night trip by boat.

Overnight in Iquitos – Lodge

Day 14 : IQUITOS – CITY TOUR + QUISTOCOCHA LAKE

Breakfast at the lodge. Early in the morning, we will begin with a birdwatching tour and canoe ride for an hour. Later, we will have a piranha fishing trip. Lunch at “The Hungry Monkey”, then return to the city at 14:00 hrs. Finally we will have a city tour in which you will be able to observe the main attractives such as the Mayor Plaza and Cathedral, The Casa de Fierro (built by Eiffel) or the Boulevard. Transfer to the selected hotel in the city of Iquitos.

Overnight in Iquitos – City

Day 15 : IQUITOS…………..

Breakfast at the hotel. At the coordinated time, hotel pick up to continue with your itinerary.

The CHD rate applies for children from 2 to 10 years traveling accompanied by two adults and sharing a bed with them. Maximum 1 child is allowed with CHD rate per room. If you require additional bed you must pay an extra cost.
