TOUR DETAILS:

Day 1: CUSCO

Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to the selected hotel. Remainder of the day off to rest or take an excursion (on request) if time allows.

Day 2: MARAS AND MORAY ON ATVs + LUNCH AT THE BELMOND RÍO SAGRADO / GLAMPING

Breakfast at the hotel. At 8.00 a.m. a private vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to transfer you to Chincheros, where the ATVs and the necessary equipment to carry out this activity will be waiting for us. Here our specialized guide will give us all the necessary information about the proper use of ATVs, and will describe the route we will travel. Culminating this brief orientation, we will begin the tour towards Moray, where we will have enough time to visit the circular terraces that were built taking advantage of huge natural depressions on the surface of the ground. The place shows how the Incas carried out scientific research on agriculture to acclimatize their seeds brought from the different places of the Empire. After the visit we go to the town of Maras, where we will have a brief stop in the main square, and then we will go to the famous salt mines that are made up of more than 4000 small pools on the slope of the mountain. At the end of the tour, we will get back on the ATVs and return to the starting point where your private mobility will be waiting for you to transfer you to the Belmond Río Sagrado hotel, where you will have a delicious lunch included. Then, you will board your private vehicle again to transfer you to Glamping, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Overnight at the Glamping.     (B. L.)

Day 3: PEROLNIYOC WATERFALL TREKKING + INCA SANCTUARY ÑAUPA CHURCH / GLAMPING

Breakfast at the Glamping. At 8.30 a.m. we will begin this day’s adventure visiting the Perolniyoc waterfall, a waterfall that has a slope of more than a hundred meters, through which the water rushes forming a veil that, together with the sun’s rays, seems to release flashes in the distance. The water of this waterfall is pure and fresh, since the source of these waters is in the heart of the Andes. Next, we will continue our walk to Ñaupa Iglesia, an enigmatic place located a few minutes from Ollantaytambo. In different parts of Peru, there are mysterious places for which no explanation has been found, and the interdimensional Inca portal of Ñaupa Iglesia, or Choquella, as the inhabitants of the place call it, is one of the most enigmatic sites in the Sacred Valley. Archaeologists who have studied this ceremonial center maintain that it is unique in its kind, and indicate that it is a space where the Incas performed rituals to the Pachamama (mother earth), the Apus, the sun and the moon. This day’s excursion lasts approximately 6 1/2 hours. Box lunch included. After the visit, we will return back to our Glamping. Rest of the afternoon free and overnight.      (B. L.)

Day 4: VISIT TO THE SACRED INCA CITADEL OF MACHU PICCHU

Breakfast at the hotel.  At the agreed time transfer to the train station to begin the excursion to the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu, recognized as one of the wonders of the world and declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The train takes us to the town of Aguas Calientes and then upon arrival we will take the bus to go up to the Archaeological Center and then begin the guided tour that lasts approximately 2 hours. During the visit you can appreciate temples, squares, terraces, houses, barns, as well as the great biodiversity that exists in the surroundings. It is worth mentioning that because of where Machu Pichu is located its beauty is exalted. A National Reserve has been formed around the citadel that has an area of 32,500 hectares, and which includes a constellation of archaeological monuments, which, in our opinion, were built as part of the Machu Picchu complex and not in isolation. After our visit in the Archaeological Center, we will take the bus to go down and back to the town where you will enjoy a delicious meal. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.    (B. L.)

Day 5: MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

Breakfast at the hotel. Day off to stroll around this small village on your own, or if you prefer, you can make a second visit to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu and visit the Inti Punku, also known as the Sun Gate (Entrance Gate to the citadel from the Inca Trail), Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu (Subject to availability of spaces – 400 spaces per day).  Both Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu tickets are limited, so we recommend when booking the program request these tickets as well to avoid congestion or unavailability if you wish to visit these tourist attractions.

Aguas Calientes works as a foundation for Machu Picchu, with the main attraction being its beautiful natural scenery. The itinerary you choose for this day is not included and is at your own risk. At the appointed time you will board the train back to the city of Cusco. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel.     (B).

Day 6 : CUSCO

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW ENTRANCE REGULATIONS FOR MACHU PICCHU

Current restrictions on visits to Machu Picchu establish that, during the first entrance to the archaeological centre, the passenger must be accompanied by a guide and must follow one of the established circuits within the citadel. Guided tours last approximately 2 hours and the circuit is chosen according to the space’s availability at the moment of formally requesting the reservation.

If the passenger wishes to enter again in the afternoon shift or the next day to make a new visit, or if the passenger wants to make a visit to Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, it must previously request an additional entrance ticket. There is no sale of tickets at the archaeological site.

It is not possible to reserve entrance tickets. The only way to guarantee a place to visit Machu Picchu is buying the entrance ticket, and to do so, it is mandatory to provide updated personal information of each passenger coming to Peru (full name, date of birth, nationality, and passport or identity card number), which must match the identity document that passengers carry during the trip. This information is especially important for visits to places such as the Inca Trail or the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu (including Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain), where local authorities require the presentation of updated and original documentation at the entrance control.

Once the entrance ticket to Machu Picchu has been purchased, it is NON-refundable, NON-transferable and NON-modifiable due to the policies imposed by the authority that regulates the entrance to the archaeological centre.
