TOUR DETAILS:

Day 1: CUSCO - CITY TOUR & RUINS NEARBY

Upon arrival our staff will be waiting for you to transfer to your selected hotel.

Between 13:00 and 13:30 hours, our staff will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour of the colonial city, built on the bases of Inca palaces. On the tour we will visit the Main Square, the Temple of the Sun, also known as Qoricancha, and the Cathedral of Cusco, where we can see beautiful paintings and sculptures. Then we will continue to the archaeological centre of Sacsayhuaman, a multipurpose place where the Sun, the Moon and the Earth were worshiped, and which was also used as a military fortress and an astrological centre. Later we will arrive at Q’enco, a cult centre related to the fire element. We continue with Puca Pucara, a place used as a supply centre and Inca checkpoint, where wind ceremonies were also held. At the end of the tour we will arrive at Tambomachay, centre of cult to water and fertility. Return to the hotel and spend the night in Cusco.

Day 2: FULL DAY SACRED VALLEY

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station to begin the excursion to the Sacred City of Machu Picchu declared by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage for Humanity and chosen as one of the new seven wonders of the world.
The train takes us to the town of Aguas Calientes, from where we will go by bus to the Archaeological Centre and we will start the guided tour that lasts approximately 2 hours. During the tour you will find temples, palaces, squares and streets of military and agricultural areas. The beauty of Machu Picchu is exalted by the extraordinary scenery where it is located. Around the citadel, the National Reserve covers an area of 32.500 hectares and includes a constellation of archaeological monuments which, in our opinion, were built as part of the Machu Picchu complex and not in isolation. At the indicated time we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we have lunch included and where we will board the train back to the city of Cusco. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel.

Day 4: TOUR A LA CARTÉ: RAIMBOW MOUNTAIN OR HUMANTAY LAGOON

For this day you will be able to choose the excursion of your preference. Visit the famous Raimbow Mountain (Vinicunca) or the beautiful Humantay lagoon.    (B.L.)

RAIMBOW MOUNTAIN (VINICUNCA)
We will pick up you from your hotel at around 4.30 hours and then we begin with our amazing one-day adventure and set out on a drive through the South Sacred Valley. The drive to the trailhead at Quesiuno (4,326 m.a.s.l.) is 3 hours and along the way there are amazing views of farming Inca terraces, valley´s and Rocky Mountains.

Once we reach the train-head, we start off on our hike following a lovely stream. You will be immediately surprised by herds of alpacas and llamas. Having consistent views of the Ausangate Mountain, we hike through villages and interact with the local people who are still keeping the culture alive.

After a total hike of 3 hours (approx.) we finally reach our destination: The Rainbow Mountains (5,020 m.a.s.l.). After being awed by their beauty, you will have time to explore the area. You can take pictures or just soak up the environment. We will spend approximately 45 minutes at the top.

At this point, we hike back down the way we came. The hike will take 2-3 hours. Our private vehicle will be waiting for us when we return. Lunch on the road.

The walk has a low / moderate difficulty, but any effort will be more than rewarded with the magical view that the environment gives us. Once in the lagoon, we will have enough time to rest, take pictures, make our offering to the Pachamama, and for the bravest, they can try to bathe in the lagoon. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW INCOME REGULATIONS FOR MACHU PICCHU

Current restrictions on visits to Machu Picchu provide that the first entry is accompanied by a guide and must follow one of the circuits established within the citadel (guided tours last approximately 2 hours and the circuit is chosen by the guide depending on the characteristics of the group on charge). If the passenger wishes to enter again in the afternoon shift or the next day to make a new visit, choose a new circuit, or visit Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, the passenger must previously request an additional entrance ticket plus the entrance ticket to the corresponding mountain (if this were the case). There is no ticket sale in the archaeological zone.

Likewise, it is necessary to provide updated data (full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number or ID) of all passengers traveling to Peru, which must match with the current identity document used for this trip. This information is especially important for visits places such as the Inca Trail or the Sacred City of Machu Picchu (including Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain), where local authorities demand the presentation of updated and original documentation in the check point.
