IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW INCOME REGULATIONS FOR MACHU PICCHU
Current restrictions on visits to Machu Picchu provide that the first entry is accompanied by a guide and must follow one of the circuits established within the citadel (guided tours last approximately 2 hours and the circuit is chosen by the guide depending on the characteristics of the group on charge). If the passenger wishes to enter again in the afternoon shift or the next day to make a new visit, choose a new circuit, or visit Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, the passenger must previously request an additional entrance ticket plus the entrance ticket to the corresponding mountain (if this were the case). There is no ticket sale in the archaeological zone.
Likewise, it is necessary to provide updated data (full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number or ID) of all passengers traveling to Peru, which must match with the current identity document used for this trip. This information is especially important for visits places such as the Inca Trail or the Sacred City of Machu Picchu (including Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain), where local authorities demand the presentation of updated and original documentation in the check point.
