As a courtesy, we want to welcome you to the city of Lima by inviting you to try the traditional Peruvian ceviche at the renowned Punto Azul restaurant in Miraflores. We will give you a voucher that you can redeem at the restaurant at dinner or lunchtime. The voucher is valid for a traditional ceviche + Pisco Sour, Beer or soda. Restaurant transfers are not included.

Day 2: BOHEMIAN LIMA AND MORRO SOLAR BY BIKE + PANORAMIC CITY TOUR BY NIGHT & MAGIC WATER CIRCUIT

Breakfast at the hotel. At the coordinated time we will meet on Larco Avenue, very close to the Larcomar shopping center to start our adventure on wheels in the city of Lima. After a brief briefing, we will begin to pedal along the beautiful Miraflores boardwalk, until we reach the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, where we will discover impressive street art, colorful typical mansions with colonial architecture and an old train line. We will visit the bridge of sighs and enjoy the beautiful views that Barranco offers.  Then, we will continue pedaling and head to a restaurant where we will taste the famous Ceviche Limeño, made with fresh fish and lemon. Next, we will descend to the beach of La Herradura and from there we will climb to the Morro Solar, a mountain privileged for being located by the sea and for having one of the most complete views of Lima.

Finally, we will pedal back through the neighborhoods of Chorrillos, Barranco and Miraflores, until we reach the meeting point.

Optionally, with an additional payment, you can request that the pick up and drop off be at your hotel.

Between 17:40 and 18:10 hrs we will pick you up from your hotel to start the panoramic city tour in the Colonial Centre where we would see the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Government Palace.

After the tour we will go to the “Magic Water Circuit”, a complex of green spaces of 180,000 square meters with 13 ornamental fountains and striking lighting effects that have set a Guinness Record to be the largest fountain complex of the world in a public park. The main water fountain of this circuit squirts water reaching 80 meters height. The vast central dome water forms the image of a Lily flower and a crown of vertical jets and spray screen create the fantasy multi-coloured receiving laser projections. The main attraction is the “Fantasy fountain”, a cybernetic pool 120 meters long that, thanks to technology, turns water into a dance and colour show. After the visit, we will take you back to the hotel. Overnight in Lima.    (B. L.)

Day 3: LIMA / CUSCO – CITY TOUR + NEARBY RUINS

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the flight to the city of Cusco. Arrival, reception, and transfer to the hotel. Free time to rest.

Between 12:30 and 13:15 hours, our staff will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour of the colonial city, built on the bases of Inca palaces. In the tour we will visit the Plaza de Armas, the Temple of the Sun, also known as Qoricancha, and the Cathedral of Cusco, where we can see beautiful paintings and sculptures. Then we will continue to the archaeological center of Sacsayhuaman, a multipurpose place where the Sun, the Moon and the Earth were worshiped, and which was also used as a military fortress and an astrological center. Later, we will arrive at Q’enco, a cult center related to the fire element. Finally, we have Puca Pucara, a place used as a supply center and Inca checkpoint, where wind ceremonies were also held. At the end of the tour we will arrive at Tambomachay, center of cult to water and fertility. Return to the hotel.     (B.)

Day 4: MARAS AND MORAY ON ATVs

Breakfast at the hotel. At 8.00 a.m. a private vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to transfer you to Chincheros, where the ATVs and the necessary equipment to carry out this activity will be waiting for us. Here our specialized guide will give us all the necessary information about the proper use of ATVs, and will describe the route we will travel. Culminating this brief orientation, we will begin the tour towards Moray, where we will have enough time to visit the circular terraces that were built taking advantage of huge natural depressions on the surface of the ground. The place shows how the Incas carried out scientific research on agriculture to acclimatize their seeds brought from the different places of the Empire. After the visit we go to the town of Maras, where we will have a brief stop in the main square, and then we will go to the famous salt mines that are made up of more than 4000 small pools on the slope of the mountain. At the end of the tour, we will get back on the ATVs and return to the starting point where your private mobility will be waiting for you to transfer you back to Cusco. Afternoon off. Overnight in Cusco      (B.)

Day 5: MOUNTAIN BIKING IN THE SACRED VALLEY: PACHAR - OLLANTAYTAMBO

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, at the coordinated time, we will pick you up from your hotel to head to Pachar, where you will begin our mountain biking adventure along a beautiful trail that follows the Vilcanota River. The road is mostly flat at first, allowing you to warm up and get comfortable with your bike. As we pedal forward, we will pass through picturesque Andean landscapes, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the tranquil beauty of the valley. Halfway through our trip, we will pause for a light box lunch. Our support vehicle will carry all the necessary provisions, giving you the opportunity to relax and recharge amidst the natural beauty of the Sacred Valley.

Next, we will resume our bike trip to the town of Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, we will explore the charming narrow alleys and experience the unique atmosphere of this well-preserved Inca village. Then we will have a guided tour of the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca fortress with impressive stone terraces and historical structures.  After the experience we will transfer you to the Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness.  Free afternoon to enjoy the hotel facilities. 3-course dinner at the hotel. Overnight in the Valley.

Optionally and with an additional payment you can request the services of the SPA.                                    (B. LB. D.)

Day 6: VISIT TO THE SACRED INCA CITADEL OF MACHU PICCHU

Breakfast at the hotel.  At the agreed time transfer to the train station to begin the excursion to the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu, recognized as one of the wonders of the world and declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The train takes us to the town of Aguas Calientes and then upon arrival we will take the bus to go up to the Archaeological Center and then begin the guided tour that lasts approximately 2 hours. During the visit you can appreciate temples, squares, terraces, houses, barns, as well as the great biodiversity that exists in the surroundings. It is worth mentioning that because of where Machu Pichu is located its beauty is exalted. A National Reserve has been formed around the citadel that has an area of 32,500 hectares, and which includes a constellation of archaeological monuments, which, in our opinion, were built as part of the Machu Picchu complex and not in isolation. At the end of the tour we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we have a buffet lunch included. At the indicated time you will have to board the train back to the city of Cusco. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel. Overnight in Cusco.       (B. L.)

Day 7: MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

Breakfast at the hotel. Day off to stroll around this small village on your own, or if you prefer, you can make a second visit to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu and visit the Inti Punku, also known as the Sun Gate (Entrance Gate to the citadel from the Inca Trail), Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu (Subject to availability of spaces – 400 spaces per day).  Both Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu tickets are limited, so we recommend when booking the program request these tickets as well to avoid congestion or unavailability if you wish to visit these tourist attractions.

Aguas Calientes works as a foundation for Machu Picchu, with the main attraction being its beautiful natural scenery. The itinerary you choose for this day is not included and is at your own risk. At the appointed time you will board the train back to the city of Cusco. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel.    (B).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW ENTRANCE REGULATIONS FOR MACHU PICCHU

Current restrictions on visits to Machu Picchu establish that, during the first entrance to the archaeological centre, the passenger must be accompanied by a guide and must follow one of the established circuits within the citadel. Guided tours last approximately 2 hours and the circuit is chosen according to the space’s availability at the moment of formally requesting the reservation.

If the passenger wishes to enter again in the afternoon shift or the next day to make a new visit, or if the passenger wants to make a visit to Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, it must previously request an additional entrance ticket. There is no sale of tickets at the archaeological site.

It is not possible to reserve entrance tickets. The only way to guarantee a place to visit Machu Picchu is buying the entrance ticket, and to do so, it is mandatory to provide updated personal information of each passenger coming to Peru (full name, date of birth, nationality, and passport or identity card number), which must match the identity document that passengers carry during the trip. This information is especially important for visits to places such as the Inca Trail or the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu (including Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain), where local authorities require the presentation of updated and original documentation at the entrance control.

Once the entrance ticket to Machu Picchu has been purchased, it is NON-refundable, NON-transferable and NON-modifiable due to the policies imposed by the authority that regulates the entrance to the archaeological centre.
