TOUR DETAILS:
Day 1 - JULIACA / SILLUSTANI
At your arrival, reception at the airport, train station or bus station, transfer to Puno and check in at the hotel of your choice.
In the afternoon, we will visit Sillustani, a cylindrical platform placed on top of a mountain which keeps the best funeral towers (called Chullpas) of the Andean high plateau. The Chullpas date from A.D. 600 to 800. The scenery in Sillustani is absolutely spectacular because it is surrounded by the Umayo lagoon.
Day 2 - PUNO / LA PAZ
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will travel to La Paz city, making a stop along the way in Copacabana, where the Copacabana Virgin is located. Then, we will take a hydrofoil (fast boat) that will take us on a panoramic journey through Lake Titicaca’s immensity to the legendary Island of the Sun, cradle of the Inca Empire. Upon arrival we will visit the Garden of the Inca, the steps leading to the Fountain of the Inca and later on to Huatajata, where a bus will be expecting us to drive us toward La Paz city. Overnight in La Paz City.
Day 3 - CITY TOUR
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning it is time for our city tour which begins in the typical Witches’ Market (Yatiris), then is off to the Colonial San Francisco Church and the Murillo Plaza in which we will find the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Government Palace and the Parliament. Then we will walk around the famous Jaen Street where the most important museums of La Paz are located, to later move to different directions like the residential areas of Obrajes and la Florida to end our tour in the spectacular Valley of the Moon. Free afternoon to discover the city.
Day 4 - LA PAZ – PUNO
After breakfast, we will start our trip back to Puno. On the way we will visit Tiahuanaco archaeological centre, the capital city of a great civilization where we will find ruins of the Akapana pyramid, Kalasasaya Temple, the semi-subterranean temple and the famous Sun Door and Puma Punku. Then, we will continue our trip back to Puno. Overnight in Puno.
DIA 5 - PUNO
Breakfast at the hotel. At the arranged time we will transfer you to the airport, train station or bus station to continue with your itinerary.
