TOUR DETAILS:

Day 1 : CHICLAYO – Tour to the Museum of the SIPAN Royal Tombs.

Reception at your arrival, transfer and accommodation in the selected hotel. .

At the afternoon, visit to the Royal Tombs Museum of Lord of Sipan, located 11 km from the city of Chiclayo. The exhibition shows the hierarch next to his valuable jewels, some tombs of the Moche Warriors that accompanied him and important pieces of gold with which he was buried. The valuable pieces found there are the result of the arduous work of the Peruvian archaeologist WALTER ALVA.

The architecture of the Museum, inspired by the old Mochicas Sanctuaries where platforms and ramps are combined, is currently considered one of the best Museums in South America, where you can observe a large collection of gold, silver and copper objects.

The Lord of Sipán came from the Mochica culture, a warrior kingdom that was formed more or less at the time of the greatest apogee of the Roman Empire, and that developed on the North coast of Peru between the 1st and 7th centuries AD its inhabitants were the Mochicas

The Moche was a typical oasis culture specialized in artificial irrigation. They used to build large pyramid monuments in adobe and began to master sophisticated methods of working metal.

Return to the hotel.

Day 2: Tour to the SICAN Museum, CHICLAYO.

Breakfast at the hotel.

At the coordinated time, departure for the National Sican museum; located in the city of Ferreñafe, near Chiclayo, on the road that leads to the Pomac Forest Historical Sanctuary.  The museum exhibits the archaeological discovery of the great tombs of noble sicans, intact. We can appreciate inone of them, the great Lord of Sican and his rich ajuar, found in Huaca “parrot”, site where the Japanese researcher Izumi Shimada is the discoverer. The museum allows you to get an overview of what was the capital of Sican culture in Batán Grande. A scale model of Huaca Parrot and also pottery found at the archaeological site is on display, highlighting the metallurgy for its high production of copper, bronze and its varied and refined goldsmithing. Another important aspect of this museum are its exquisite mural paintings found on the walls of the burial chambers in Huaca las Ventanas, thus showing the worldview that these people shared. Visitors can go back in time and learn.  Return to the hotel.

Transfer to the airport or bus station to continue the itinerary.
